Customs & Excise Challenge

Faster cocaine detection in containers

The General Administration of Customs and Excise and innovation lab Nido are organizing a market consultation:
Help Customs Detect Cocaine in Containers Faster.

When a containership arrives at the Port of Antwerp, the containers are moved from the ship to the quay and then scanned for the presence of drugs. Customs would like to speed up this process and examine the containers for drugs as they are moved from the ship to the quay. That process takes an average of two to three minutes.

What do we expect from the solution?

The solution should allow reliable detection of cocaine in containers, at no more than three minutes and while the container is in the air.
