The SPW Economie, Emploi, Recherche (SPW EER) implements the Walloon government’s policy in the fields of economy, employment and research. It represents Wallonia at various levels of government, and acts as a relay for European programs.

It serves as a conduit for European programs and is a vital force in addressing economic shifts. SPW Research facilitates applied research and innovation, supporting entities from businesses to research organizations. It aids companies in participating in various programs and promotes science and technology awareness. With about sixty staff, SPW Research funds AI projects and contributes to the DigitalWallonia4.IA Steering Committee, collaborating on the Intelligent Specialization Strategy and European initiatives within SPW-EER.

icity.brussels is a joint initiative of ULB, VUB and SIRRIS and a technology hub. Funded by the ERDF and Innoviris, icity.brussels is entirely devoted to strengthening Research and Innovation in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Brussels. It has already launched R&D ICT projects in several key domains like education, e-Health, mobility, Internet of Things or 5G.

UGENT.AI Ghent University has a strong tradition in artificial intelligence and data science related research. Many research teams are working on foundational aspects of AI and are applying the latest AI techniques in a wide range of application areas.
