How to implement the ‘fast lane’ for AI in the Benelux

Last week, Rachel Wolf, lead author on our recent report The way forward for the D9 in the age of AI, presented our report to the Benelux Union’s summit on turning the Benelux into a ‘living lab’ for European AI. Public First presented alongside organisations such as Google Cloud, Connecterra, and Digital Luxembourg, and everybody highlighted how the Benelux can lead Europe with innovative tech policies. The Belgian digital minister Philippe de Backer welcomed these policies, and noted how crucial the Benelux Union can be for driving forward European policy. A large number of the comments – including on skills, and on the ability of start-ups to move and grow, were also picked up by the Commission in their contribution. Further information about the event can be found at the Benelux Union, here.
